Lower Taxes

Kris Jordan is a proven tax cutter has been a strong voice for lower taxes his entire career. He has never voted for a tax increase and has even voted against tax increases proposed by members of his own party. During his two terms as a Delaware County Commissioner, he successfully cut property taxes and fought to pass a balanced budget every year he was on the Commission. As a State Representative, he voted against Ted Strickland’s billion dollar tax increase and co-sponsored legislation to eliminate Ohio’s income tax. As a State Senator, he proudly voted for the FY 2012-2013 budget, which reduced taxes on hard-working Ohioans.

Runaway Government Spending

Kris Jordan is a proven fiscal conservative who believes that government needs to tighten its belt – just like Ohio families are. He has consistently stood up for fiscal responsibility and worked to reduce government spending. In 2004, he was awarded the Local Elected Official of the Year Award by the United Conservatives of Ohio for his principled fiscally conservative leadership.

Right to Life

Kris Jordan has a 100% pro-life and pro-family voting record. In 2008, he was awarded the Freedom Award by the Ohio Christian Alliance for standing up to protect prayer in the public square. He is a member of Greater Columbus Right to Life and is a steadfast defender of traditional marriage and values.

Second Amendment Rights

Kris Jordan and his wife are both members of the National Rifle Association and are concealed carry permit holders. He has consistently stood up for 2nd Amendment rights and was endorsed by the NRA and the Buckeye Firearms Association during his 2008 campaign for State Representative.

School Choice

Kris Jordan is a strong advocate for school choice and believes that we can improve our education system through competition. He will fight to provide better opportunities for Ohio’s children, and he was supported by pro-school choice organizations during his campaign for State Representative.

Senate Bill 88, Jordan's School Scholarship Tax Credit, would help more Ohio families choose the best education possible for their children by allowing individuals and companies in Ohio to receive a tax credit for contributions to educational scholarship organizations. The bill passed out of the Senate Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee in April 2011 and is currently awaiting a vote before the full Senate.

Agriculture

Kris Jordan and his family have been involved in agriculture his entire life. His father was the 4-H Agent for Delaware County for nearly thirty years and Kris was an active 4-H member throughout his childhood. During turbulent times like these, Kris will fight to protect CAUV tax relief for farm families and will fight to keep big government regulators away from hurting agriculture.

In 2011, Kris Jordan introduced SB 90 in the Ohio Senate to repeal the Ohio estate tax, which had hurt farmers in Ohio for over four decades. The estate tax repeal became a part of the FY 2012-2013 state budget, which Kris Jordan proudly supported.

Freedom and Liberty

Kris Jordan believes that our freedoms and values are under attack from government, which is why he sponsored the State Sovereignty resolution in 2009. In the Ohio Senate, he continues to fight for states' rights and will work to protect the freedom of every Ohioan. In 2011, he was honored as one of the first-ever Ohio General Assembly recipients of the American Conservative Union's Defender of Liberty award.
